Today is all about another website that can help you learn more about the fast food industry called The Fast Food Experience. This site is a blog that was written by a young man (18 years old) in 2005 and is about his experiences in working for a fast food franchise. Even though he was accepted to an Ivy League College, he still decided to get some work experience at a fast food restaurant before heading out to school. Although he only stays to work four about seventeen days, his insight into working for a fast food company is priceless.
As he takes you through his days working at the fast food chain, the author reveals information about how employees are treated in this type of working environment; usually as stupid or forgotten. He also tells us about the other employees who are usually living difficult lives and having to scrape by to survive, even with working full time at a fast food restaurant. The young man also reveals that the health code and cleaning conditions of the restaurant are below par.
If you're interested in reading about the very real experiences of working in a fast food joint, I highly recommend looking at this blog! I found it very insightful and an awesome resource for a different area of the fast food industry.
Exercise: Today I decided to skip my workout. Call me lazy, but I was not only super tired but also had a really long day of work. Tomorrow I will be doing today's workout of biking. If you want to do a workout today, then hop on a bike and have a wonderful workout. If not, join me tomorrow in my biking workout :)
Eat: If you ever are having leftovers for dinner and need to reheat it all up, here's a tip to make your food taste much better: rather than putting it in the microwave, reheat your food in the oven or over the stove! Although it may take a little longer, you food will be cooked through better and made to be not as soggy, such as with leftover pizza.
Relax: If you are ever having a long day at work, go out to lunch with one of your coworkers. It's nice to have someone to eat with and it's also a great way to get to know the people you work with. Take a half of an hour out of your day and just sit, chat, and eat with a friend.
I also skip my workout because I’m too tired after work. Anyway, have you read Eric Schlosser's "Fast Food Nation"? It's a book that speaks about the alarming facts about health and obesity. A genius piece, indeed.
