February Equipment and Materials

Hello Everyone and welcome to February! This month, I am going to take what we have been talking about (food and nutrition) and shift it in a new directions for this month's topic: Fast Food. I will be discussing anything from information about individual fast food chains, to nutrition information about fast food menu items, as well as the politics behind the fast food industry and more!

In order to follow along with the topic and discussions for this month, you will need to get the following materials and equipment:

Book: "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser
The book will be broken down into four sections, one section for each week. I will continue to do book discussions on Wednesdays. The first section will cover the introduction and chapters 1 and 2; the second section will cover chapters 3, 4, and 5; the third will cover chapters 6, 7, 8, and 9; and the final section will cover chapter 10, the epilogue, and the afterward.

Movies: We will be watching "Supersize Me" on  Friday, February 11th and "Fast Food Nation" on Friday, February 25th.


Magazines: I will be talking about magazine articles that come out of the monthly editions of Health Magazine, Women's Health Magazine, and Natural Health Magazine. I may also read other magazines as the months progress (including in February), but I will notify you if I do.


Workout Equipment: For this month, I have broken down the days into types of workouts based on the day of the week and the equipment you will need for that day.
Sunday = Fitness Balance Ball (CORE Workouts)
Monday = Running Shoes and Gear, Yoga Mat (Running and Yoga)
Tuesday = Swim Suit, Cap, Goggles, Kickboard, Pull Buoy (Swimming)
Wednesday = Running Shoes and Gear, Yoga Mat (Running and Yoga)
Thursday = Swim Suit, Cap, Goggles, Kickboard, Pull Buoy (Swimming)
Friday = Yoga Mat or Soft Surface (Stretching)
Saturday = Running Shoes, Biking Gear, Stationary Bike (Biking)
